Gorton’s Seafood Review & Giveaway *CLOSED*

*CLOSED*

I know most of you recognize the icon above.  Gorton’s Seafood has been bringing families quality seafood products since 1849.  My family was given the opportunity to try Gorton’s Seafood as part of the Healthy Families Happy Kids Event.  The first product I purchased was Fish Sticks, which honestly is what I’d always associated with Gorton’s Seafood.  My husband and kids thought getting a super quick dinner of fish sticks was a big treat!

Browsing the freezer case at my local grocery store, I noticed that Gorton’s Seafood offers a wide variety of seafood products.  I decided to try the shrimp scampi.  It was a savior meal for me one evening when I realized I’d forgotten to take out dinner.  I was pleasantly surprised with the freshness and taste of the shrimp.  I simply cooked the shrimp and served it over whole grain pasta.  I added homemade bread and voila, dinner was served.  We had just enough shrimp scampi from one package to feed my family of four.
Recently, Gorton’s teamed up with Ortega to promote WE ♥ FISH TACOS.  Gorton’s and Ortega are also offering you the opportunity to win a trip to Mexico in the Fish Taco Fiesta Challenge as part of this new partnership!  The contest has been extended to November, so head on over and enter. My family is a big fan of fish tacos.  We typically use grilled fish or hand fried fish, but decided to give Gorton’s tilapia a whirl.  I saved a lot of time and the entire family agreed it was a winner.

My recipe:
1 Box of Gorton’s Premium Tilapia Fillets
1 Package of Corn Tortillas
1 Red Cabbage (sliced thin)
Ortega Salsa
Ranch Dressing
Hot Sauce (optional)
I cooked the tilapia fillets according to package directions and warmed the corn tortillas individually in a pan.  Place the fish, salsa, ranch, hot sauce and cabbage on a tortilla and enjoy!  My husband likes hot sauce and the kids add cheese and omit the cabbage.  It’s an easy and delicious meal for the entire family!  You can also get Gorton’s and Ortega fish taco recipes online to fit with your families tastes.
