I SPY Spooky Mansion Wii Game & I SPY Universe DS Game Review & Giveaway *CLOSED*

If your kids love riddles & puzzles, they’ll enjoy playing the I SPY Wii & DS games by Scholastic.  I played the I SPY Spooky Mansion Wii game & I SPY Universe game for the DS with Monkeyboy and we ended up playing for hours.  I forgot how much I enjoyed I SPY games!

 

The I SPY Spooky Mansion Wii game is rated E for Everyone, so don’t let the spooky mansion & skeleton scare you.  The creaky floors, whistling wind, rattling doors, & “scary” organ music are more interesting than frightening.  My 3 year old, LuLu, thought it was cute.  She got into the game as Monekyboy’s assistant and loved spying an object her big brother couldn’t find.

About the Spooky Mansion Wii game:
A skeleton traps you inside his spooky mansion with a challenge to find his secret way out. You explore each room of the house in first-person perspective to reveal over 30 I SPY riddles. Solve I SPY riddles, earn clues and play brain-teasing games to uncover the mansion’s secret escape!

A few things we loved:
The kids enjoyed solving the riddles & fitting together the puzzle pieces to learn the route of their escape.    Monkeyboy especially enjoyed the additional tasks within each room such as bobbing for apples and making fly stew.  His name was even incorporated into part of the game which he thought was awesome! I liked that it encouraged reading but provided the option to have the riddles read aloud (or will read you a specific word) to further the educational aspect of the game.

I SPY Universe for the DS  is a neat game.  We did find it easier than the Spooky Mansion Wii game, but that was actually a good thing.  LuLu was able to make it somewhat through to another planet by herself.

About the I SPY Universe DS game:
Blast off on a mission to save the I SPY Universe! The sun is fading and your help is needed to re-fire and restore its glimmering light again! Only the generator on-board your rocket can save the sun. To power the generator, travel the depths of the universe to solve I SPY riddles to collect the 36 pieces to fix the generator! Along the way, earn fuel for your space travels by playing 6 brain-teasing puzzles.

A few things we loved:
We liked that you’re able to navigate 12 planets and solve fun riddles while trying to find the generator pieces.  We all thought the graphics were interesting and fun.  The game even included a hint feature to help players solve the riddles.  I think this was how LuLu was able to advance in the game.

My family enjoyed playing both the I SPY Universe and I SPY Spooky Mansion games by Scholastic.  We believe your  family will get the same entertainment and quality time that we have enjoyed.  Monekyboy was able to choose which of the 2 games one winner would receive.  He thought we should giveaway the I SPY Spooky Mansion game because a whole family could play together. Pop some popcorn & get ready for a fun family game night!

    If I am going to check any site in a day it is Coupon Challenge, always has the most informative and up to date information. Would love to win the Wii game, to play with my grandkids so they can laugh at grandma, but can not figure out how to enter it.

    I like Scholastic on facebook. Wish we had of had all of this when my kids were young, we just had the books. Now I can share the books with my grandchildren which are homeschooled and alot is offered for homeschoolers.

    I would like to win this game for my 5 y/o daughter who loves I Spy games. We have one we play on the Wii but her big brother or I have to sit with her to read out what she has to do or find, so this one would be great. Would love to win it for her.

    To be honest, it would be for me and my 3 kids. We love these types of games and play them on the computer and it would be so nice to have them on the wii instead of a little screen. We take turns and it works for us.

    Santa is finally bringing a Wii to my 2 boys this year. He must know we are one of the last families in America to own one! My sons will sit “forever”(10+ min) with an ISpy book. They would love this game.

    I would love to win this game (s) for my three grandsons. Maye they could work as a “team” to find the clues instead of “arguing” to play all the time. Maybe “wishful” thinking though but worth a try. Bring the games on to my grandsons.
