Get Reimbursed for the Mail-In Rebate Offers You Submit

I purchased the above items at Walgreen’s several weeks ago. Today I received my $15 Olay rebate offer back in the mail stating that 1 of the UPC codes was not part of the offer. Say What?!?

I triple and quadruple check my rebate offers before submitting them. I know the company will verify all the information, and I won’t get the rebate check if I submit incorrectly.

I called customer service (1-866-789-3078) and the UPC code listed for the Olay Total Effect 7-in-1 advanced anti-aging deep penetrating moisture body wash was not one of the valid UPC codes they had listed for this offer. How interesting considering it’s a body wash which is the qualification, the other acceptable body wash is the same except it says exfoliate and replenish instead of deep penetrating moisture. Oh, did I mention that there’s a picture of this exact body wash on the rebate offer?

Needless to say I was apologized to and asked to resubmit my offer for payment.

DON’T just accept that you won’t get the rebate and not verify with the company if everything looks legitimate to you.

Example 2:
Recently I received another rebate offer back in the mail stating the items were purchased outside of the offer period. The customer service rep was determined that the offer period was in July and I purchased in January so it wasn’t valid. I replied (nicely) numerous times that the rebate offer I was looking at stated a period in January 2010, not July 2009. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I was told that the same rebate offer number ended up being given to 2 different rebate offers. One offer was held in July 2009 and one was offered in January 2010. I just received my $6 check for that rebate.

Had I not contacted the companies, I would be out $21!

This happened to me too! I got mine sent back yesterday & was totally confused because the body wash is pictured! Thought I was going insane… I will take your advise to call them. Glad it wasn't just me 🙂

I'm glad I put this up then. I wrote on the bottom of the letter they send back the UPC and full description of the body wash. I also circled the picture on the rebate form.
