My husband and I have been talking about whether or not it’s time to start giving an allowance to our children.  Mainly “Monekyboy” since he’ll be 6 next month!  We don’t want to leave “LuLu” out, though.

Does anyone have thoughts or experiences with this? 
How much do we give?  I’ve heard $1 for each year
How do you determine what to give the allowance for?
Should it be tied to chores?

I finally ordered my first Groupon deal this morning.  Today’s deal is $30 worth of Zoots Dry Cleaning for $9 (70% savings).  I normally would not jump in on this deal.  I never get my clothes dry cleaned.  The rare occasions that I do need something dry cleaned, I give it to my mom.  Yes, I did say I give my mom my dry cleaning!  There’s my confession for the week. 

Hubby and I will be going on vacation in a few weeks and I’ll need his suit cleaned when we return.  Also, my bridesmaid dress from my brothers wedding (in 2 weeks!) will need to be cleaned.
