Thrifty Thursday: What to Do with Expired Coupons

I’ve mentioned this before, but I thought another post would be beneficial.  As you know, stores DO NOT accept expired coupons.  Well,  what if you have coupons that expired before you could use them?  Throw them away?  No – Donate expired coupons to Military families overseas!

Commissaries & the PX overseas will accept expired coupons up to 6 MONTHS past their expiration date.  This is a fantastic way to support our Military families and it only takes a little bit of your time and postage.

  • Coupons must be cut and sorted (read the guidelines specific to the website listed below)
  • It is recommended that you only send coupons expired by 2 months
  • Send only manufacture coupons
  • These are APO address, so it’s the same shipping cost as mailing within the US

Choose one of the following websites to find an address to mail your expired coupons.  Why don’t I just list the addresses?  People get transferred or stop accepting coupons.  These sites keep addresses current for your convenience.

  1. Coupon Mom
  2. Grocery Savings Tips
  3. Overseas Coupon Program
  4. Coups for Troops

I have heard first-hand accounts of the benefits families overseas receive from the coupons.  They do truly appreciate your time and effort.

If you have another website with addresses or have benefited from these coupons, please leave a comment.
