My Farm Fresh Shopping Trip 03/17

I’ve had some pretty embarrassing totals the past couple of weeks!
I’m rather upset with myself because of the GM cereal/Free milk Promo.  There was a disclaimer noted when I first walked into the store regarding this deal.  I read it and thought it meant that the Kix cereal (8.7oz) was now included in the promo.  I decided to add in that deal because even paying for the cereal, I still would “make” money when you factored in the milk.  NO!
See all the match ups HERE except:
Milk
2 bread
buttermilk-for Soda Bread tonight
Sugar
Jelly-not sure how I ran out of that!
Creta Farms Ham: reg price $3.05-$1/ 1/2 lb tearpad at deli counter=$1.05
2 Oreo Cakesters: sale $2.19-$1/1 printable (no longer available)=$0.38
Gold Metal Flour: reg price $ 2.28-$0.75/1 printable(no longer available)=$0.78
Nature’s Own thin Bagels: reg price $2.49-$0.75/1 printable HERE=$0.99
(Got a TON of produce!)
*round up for cure
Total Paid: $25
Total Saved: 17.49
(Pathetic, I know)
Maybe HT will be better-look for matchups tomorrow!
How did you do?

It's not "pathetic" – think of how much it would have cost you if you didn't coupon or follow sales. I can't imagine grocery shopping like THAT! That's what I remind myself when one of my coupons didn't ring up or something… "well, Heather, you still saved $– so we can't complain." (or worse yet, "you could live in one of those towns where all they have is one superwalmart", lol)

I find myself feeling this way fairly often. Then I have to remind myself that I can't save 80% everytime I step in a grocery store. Keep it fun. This is going to be my new mantra, along w/thankfulness.

PS. It's nice to know you're just like the rest of us. 🙂

I was mad about my total today too. With the creta farms lunch meat, one of the hams has consistently been on sale for 3.99/lb. I always ask the meat counter for 2 packages with 1/2 lb of meat in each of them. with two coupons, that makes the meat free! I have done it three weeks in a row now. Love free lunch meat!

    Heather and Ginger,
You made me smile. I know what your saying is true. I think I'm just in a funk, especially posting to the world what I'm spending. Thank you for your comments, I feel better 🙂

    Julie,
I've been a happy girl with all those creta farm coupons too! We go through lunch meat and it can get expensive. My totals have been at or below $0.50 OOP. I'm not sure why the price was so high today. I didn't even realize it until I posted my purchases.
