Zaycon Foods Hampton Roads Event Now Open

by Dana Zeliff on December 20, 20112011-12-20
in Uncategorized

Disclosure: This post may contain an affiliate link.

Zaycon Foods just opened the event in the Hampton Roads area of VA & North Carolina!

Did you miss out the last time Zaycon Foods was in town?  Now, you get a chance to take advantage of this great offer.

The price is only $1.69lb for 100% All-Natural Chicken Breasts!

You will only have until December 31st to purchase or while supplies last.

The chicken is sold in a 40lb case, so you will pay about $67.60 for the case.  Yes, that is a lot of money to shell out at one time.  However, you will have 100% All-Natural chicken with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients to feed your family for quite awhile.

You could also consider splitting the case with a friend.  The case of chicken is split into four 10-lb bags, so sharing the case will be easy.

Some of the dates in my area are below.  Zaycon Foods will be traveling to many other areas, so make sure to check the full list of cities.

Budget-Friendly Stockings at Dollar General

by Dana Zeliff on December 12, 20112011-12-12

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

In my house, stocking are always the last gift to be opened on Christmas morning.  Items in the stocking are never wrapped, and I even try to hide a small trinket in the tip of the stocking to add just one more surprise.

This year I was challenged to shop at Dollar General to make budget-friendly stockings.  I definitely feel like I succeeded!  I purchased a few items to complete my children’s stockings, but I wanted to spend the majority of my $25 budget to give back to children in need. I put together 2 donation stockings (1 for a boy and 1 for a girl) that were overflowing with Holiday goodies.

Luckily, Dollar General has a wide selection of gifts at a fantastic price. Most of the items I purchased were only $1!  I purchased a coloring book with crayons, body wash, candy, play-doh, bubbles & a small toy for each stocking.  As you can see from the picture above;  I had to stuff the stocking to make it all fit!

My top money-saving tip for filling stockings is to purchase items on sale throughout the year.  The stockings I filled from Dollar General were limited to only one shopping trip.  Although I did well and was able to complete 2 great stockings for $25, I could have saved even more by shopping multiple weeks to take advantage of sales.

Don’t forget that Dollar General accepts coupons to help you spend less!

Slim Fast On-The-Go Shakes Review: Help Keep Off the Holiday Weight

by Dana Zeliff on December 11, 20112011-12-11
in Uncategorized

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Slim-Fast for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Slim-Fast has launched their new Slim Fast on-the-go shakes to provide busy individuals with a healthy meal on the run.  The shakes are convenient and filling;  providing up to four hours of hunger control and offer 10 grams of protein, five grams of fiber and 24 essential vitamins and minerals.

I had the opportunity to review the new Slim Fast on-the-go shakes to help spread the word about the new product. I’ve had the shakes for breakfast over the past several days.  The shakes make me feel full right up until lunch time, so I don’t have to worry about the urge to snack before my next meal.

The first flavor I tried was the Creamy Milk Chocolate variety. I also drank the French Vanilla flavor just this morning. My preference is the Creamy Milk Chocolate which did not come as a surprise. I almost always prefer anything with chocolate!

If Creamy Milk Chocolate & French Vanilla flavors don’t appeal to you, Slim fast on-the -go shakes also offer:

  • Rich Chocolate Royale
  • Cappuccino Delight
  • Strawberries N’ Cream

The flavor of Slim Fast does take some getting used to. While the taste doesn’t start off bad, its more of an acquired taste. I also noticed that my stomach felt upset right after finishing the shake for the first 2 days. I’m not sure if it was the fact that I typically skip breakfast or that I’m not used to getting 24 vitamins & nutrients all packed in one meal. My discomfort only lasted a short time, and I didn’t have any issues after the first 2 days.

The new Slim-Fast shakes are part of the Slim-Fast 3•2•1 Plan.   The Slim-Fast 3•2•1 Plan includes the following steps to help you stick to your plan and achieve your weight loss goals:

  • 3 Snacks: Three nourishing snacks a day such as Slim-Fast 100-calorie snack bars, fruit, nuts or veggies
  • 2 Slim-Fast Shakes or Meal Bars per day.
  • 1 Balanced Meal: Enjoy one balanced 500-calorie meal per day.

I will continue with my morning Slim Fast on-the-go shake throughout the holidays. Hopefully, it will help curve my appetite and give me the power to avoid excess Christmas cookies. While I’m not expecting to actually lose weight this month drinking Slim Fast, I hope it will help me avoid gaining my traditional holiday weight.

What is your favorite Slim Fast Shake Flavor?
