My Computer Died, Again!

My desktop computer died on me again this morning!  I took a break from working on CVS and came back to find my computer telling me it can’t find the operating system.  My father-in-law rebuilt this computer 6 months ago when it died on me the first time.  I guess it’s time for a new computer.  Ugh!

Please excuse any delays in postings as I’m working on a 9 year old laptop that is rather slow.  Hence the reason CVS was just posted at 11am!  I know I’m fortunate to have a backup computer.  This one just drives me a little crazy.

If anyone has a computer that they love, I’d appreciate any recommendations.  I plan to start researching new desktop computers tomorrow. I’m thankful to have a savings fund to help pay for this, just not so happy to have to use it 🙂

Playroom Project Complete

Did you see my shameful photo last night of the kids play room?

The rest of my week is pretty busy with Farm Fresh and Harris Teeter matchups and shopping tomorrow, kids Easter parties on Thursday and cooking for Freezer Cooking Day on Friday (see post of my plans tomorrow).  Therefore, I decided to deal with the problem today.  I spent 2 hours cleaning and sorting toys, books, puzzles and wii games.

The fruit of my labor…
The left is trash and broken toys and the right is the yard sale pile.  I was expecting more items to be pulled out, but when I put it all in the plastic storage container it was actually overflowing. I’m happy with the results! Remember, whatever doesn’t sell at the yard sale gets donated.
You can see the floor 🙂
Now I’m off to organize my coupons!

Time to Clean Out the Playroom

by Dana Zeliff on March 29, 20102010-03-29

I’m rather embarrassed by this picture! My kids had friends over this weekend and this is actually clean compared to what it was. I have no idea where all these toys came from. I just know I didn’t buy a quarter of them. My husband and I have been on a toy buying ban for a couple years now. The exception is birthdays and holidays; even then there are not many toys purchased. Well, my kids do have 3 sets of grandparents (one of which is a veteran yard saler).  I’d say that’s where the problem is 🙂
I’ve noticed that the more my kids have, the less they play with. I have containers of toys in the eves that I swap out, but the playroom is still packed full!  I’ve decided it’s time for another purge.  The container on the right side (in the back) is over flowing with dress up clothes.  I must confess that most of that was my doing.  How could I pass up all those princess dresses for $2 after Halloween?  Time to sort through the tornado and get ready for a yard sale. Whatever doesn’t sell gets donated, no items return home!
Stay tuned as I’ll post the results of my labor later this week.  My mother-in-law is going on vacation over spring break, but when she returns she has promised me a post on yard sale tips and a few key price points.
Am I the only one with a disaster lurking in their home?

I tried this a couple weeks ago then I sort of forgot to link up until it was too late. My plan was to link for one month and see the results. I’ll try for the next 4 weeks and see how it goes.

Get Reimbursed for the Mail-In Rebate Offers You Submit

by Dana Zeliff on March 25, 20102010-03-25
in Uncategorized

I purchased the above items at Walgreen’s several weeks ago. Today I received my $15 Olay rebate offer back in the mail stating that 1 of the UPC codes was not part of the offer. Say What?!?

I triple and quadruple check my rebate offers before submitting them. I know the company will verify all the information, and I won’t get the rebate check if I submit incorrectly.

I called customer service (1-866-789-3078) and the UPC code listed for the Olay Total Effect 7-in-1 advanced anti-aging deep penetrating moisture body wash was not one of the valid UPC codes they had listed for this offer. How interesting considering it’s a body wash which is the qualification, the other acceptable body wash is the same except it says exfoliate and replenish instead of deep penetrating moisture. Oh, did I mention that there’s a picture of this exact body wash on the rebate offer?

Needless to say I was apologized to and asked to resubmit my offer for payment.

DON’T just accept that you won’t get the rebate and not verify with the company if everything looks legitimate to you.

Example 2:
Recently I received another rebate offer back in the mail stating the items were purchased outside of the offer period. The customer service rep was determined that the offer period was in July and I purchased in January so it wasn’t valid. I replied (nicely) numerous times that the rebate offer I was looking at stated a period in January 2010, not July 2009. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I was told that the same rebate offer number ended up being given to 2 different rebate offers. One offer was held in July 2009 and one was offered in January 2010. I just received my $6 check for that rebate.

Had I not contacted the companies, I would be out $21!

Who Likes the New Site??

I’m thrilled to début the new and improved, The Coupon Challenge!!! Diana with Custom Blog Designs was amazing! My original idea was to stick with the polka dots and black bows, but I felt it would be too dark. After I picked out the image, Diana created all this!!!

Diana is also very reasonably priced. I think I got a steal for all the hard work and creativity she put into the design!

Stay tuned tomorrow for Farm Fresh matchups, followed by Harris Teeter triples!

I’ll also be trying my hand a Bloom matchups later in the afternoon. Bloom doesn’t multiply coupons, so that one goes on the end of the list 🙂

Now, I’m off to bed so I can get an early start~

Hey, before you go, grab my button 🙂

Do you like the new site??
