Time to Clean Out the Playroom

I’m rather embarrassed by this picture! My kids had friends over this weekend and this is actually clean compared to what it was. I have no idea where all these toys came from. I just know I didn’t buy a quarter of them. My husband and I have been on a toy buying ban for a couple years now. The exception is birthdays and holidays; even then there are not many toys purchased. Well, my kids do have 3 sets of grandparents (one of which is a veteran yard saler).  I’d say that’s where the problem is 🙂
I’ve noticed that the more my kids have, the less they play with. I have containers of toys in the eves that I swap out, but the playroom is still packed full!  I’ve decided it’s time for another purge.  The container on the right side (in the back) is over flowing with dress up clothes.  I must confess that most of that was my doing.  How could I pass up all those princess dresses for $2 after Halloween?  Time to sort through the tornado and get ready for a yard sale. Whatever doesn’t sell gets donated, no items return home!
Stay tuned as I’ll post the results of my labor later this week.  My mother-in-law is going on vacation over spring break, but when she returns she has promised me a post on yard sale tips and a few key price points.
Am I the only one with a disaster lurking in their home?

My whole house looks like that! The problem is I clean it and it goes back to looking like that the next day!

I know! I often ask my husband why I even bother.

After I got the room straight last night "LuLu" dumped 2 baskets full of Barbies and my little ponies on the floor and had kitchen food all over. Bedtime was a little later that night. I sat on the floor and watched her whine and clean it up 🙂
