Exergen TemporalScanner Review & Giveaway *closed*

*CLOSED*

Having sick kids is bad enough without having to add to their discomfort by taking their temperature.  I hated using rectal thermometers when my kids were babies.  I always felt like I was hurting them; not to mention it’s unpleasant for parent & child.  My children have long passed that stage, but they still don’t cooperate with my “grown up” thermometers.  This is why I welcomed the opportunity to try the Exergen TemporalScanner.

The Exergen TemporalScanner is an infrared thermometer that captures temperature by scanning the heat that comes off the forehead (via the temporal artery).  It is non-invasive, easy-to-use (only takes 2 seconds) and is extremely accurate. Fusing accurate medical technology with a mother’s gentle touch, the Exergen TemporalScanner avoids unpleasant episodes of having to hold a fussy and sick child down long enough to get an accurate thermometer reading.  It takes merely two seconds and a gentle swipe, so parents can even check a sleeping child’s temperature!

Two dozen studies have  attested to the accuracy and reliability of the Exergen TemporalScanner.  Tests have shown it to be accurate within +0.2°F.  Plus, almost 50% of hospitals and 1/3 of pediatricians are using the Exergen TemporalScanner!

Fortunately, no one in my house has had a fever since my Exergen TemporalScanner arrived.  I did try it out during a family Christmas party, though.  My brother was insistent that he had a fever, so I brought out the Exergen TemporalScanner.  His reading was normal, but it turned into a “party game” with everyone curious to try this new Temporal Artery Thermometer.  I literally tested the temperature of 15 people that evening.  Some of my family members were aware of their normal temperature and the  Exergen TemporalScanner came in right within their normal range.  Both of my children actually enjoy having their temperature taken with the Exergen TemporalScanner, so I’m hoping this will mean easy temperature readings as we move further into the cold & flu season.

This high-tech thermometer is a great tool for parents.  If you’re looking for a innovative & accurate way to take your child’s temperature, consider the Exergen TemporalScanner in the New Year.

Wow, this is a nice thermometer! It would be so nice to just swipe it across my kids foreheads instead of probing in their mouths or under their arms! I would definitely put this to good use!

My daughter gets super high temperatures–usually between 104 and 105–and usually in the middle of the night. They have to be carefully monitored. This would make it so much easier and less intrusive, right now we use an oral digital.
“ambient temperature affects the skin temperature, and so the thermometer automatically measures the ambient temperature at the very same time it is measuring the temperature over the temporal artery. It then can calculate any heat loss (in a normal or cold room) or gain (in a hot room), and instantly computes an accurate body temperature.”

Technology has made huge advancements to make these thermometers much more accurate than in the past, as well as being more consumer-priced friendly as opposed to only hospital use.

Love this website. I’m still unfamiliar with tweeting etc. so this was a good first step for me. I have more than several children and have “been there done that” when it comes to taking their temperature. I am amazed at modern technology & so thankful God chose me to be here in 2011 vs. the middle ages! What’s great about this thermometer is that my pediatrician has been using it for the past couple of years.
BTW, have been to several seminars on couponing & tried websites but I find this one to be user friendly for a beginner like me! Thanks!!!
