Welcome to Give Freely!

I’ve teamed up with A Frugal Chick and other bloggers to bring you this weekly post.

One in five Americans deals daily with the issue of not having enough to eat. Many of those are children. As couponers, we have the unique opportunity to buy items at extremely reduced prices (or even free) to feed our families.

The goal is Give Freely is to present you each week with freebies or near freebies from your local grocery stores. Because these items are so inexpensive we are hoping that you will spend the extra few cents to pick up a spare item to donate to your community center, church, local food bank or shelter.

If you are a blogger who does deals for a supermarket not on this list and would be interested in participating, please send A Frugal Chick an e-mail!

Please take this opportunity to help stop hunger in this country!

I think Give Freely is a wonderful idea. I love using coupons and saving money for my family, my husband was diagnosed with cancer in mid 2007 and we faced huge financial problems including losing our home, our vehicle and we ended up living in a travel trailer in a campground for 2o months, then the heat was too much (AZ) in the summer for my hubby, so we had to move to those pay by the week motels in Phoenix, it wasn’t easy and I stressed at times if we would have enough food, but with our faith in GOD, we made it. We finally decided to move back to Virginia with our oldest son, til we could get on our feet, 6 months later we had our own place and we are doing good, sure we still scrape to get by, hubby can’t work, due to the cancer and multiple health issues, but Thank GOD we have a roof, food, vehicle and clothing. So when I get extra things with my coupons, we donate to help others out. A little bit of kindness goes a long way 🙂

I can’t even begin to imagine the stuggles you two went through over the past few years. I’m so glad you are getting back on your feet and are even able to give back. I’ll be praying for your family
