Welcome to Give Freely!

I’ve teamed up with A Frugal Chick and other bloggers to bring you this weekly post.

One in five Americans deals daily with the issue of not having enough to eat. Many of those are children. As couponers, we have the unique opportunity to buy items at extremely reduced prices (or even free) to feed our families.

The goal is Give Freely is to present you each week with freebies or near freebies from your local grocery stores. Because these items are so inexpensive we are hoping that you will spend the extra few cents to pick up a spare item to donate to your community center, church, local food bank or shelter.

If you are a blogger who does deals for a supermarket not on this list and would be interested in participating, please send A Frugal Chick an e-mail!

Please take this opportunity to help stop hunger in this country!

I use my coupons to get free or close for items I need, and the extras I either give to the local (Shawsville, VA) food pantry or make available for people at church to use if they are in need, or to take and give to family’s they know who are having a hard time.

I mean even if someone is getting foodstamps that doesn’t coveer soap, shampoo, ect. My friend calls it my ‘Coupon Ministry’.

Donating to your church is a great idea. They know when someone in your community needs assistant or someone within your congregation.

Donating personal care products is always great too. There is only so much free toothpaste one family can use, but it can make a huge impact on someone struggling financially.
