I am working in conjunction with A Frugal Chick, Mom on Dealz, The Coupon Consultant & Here’s the Deal 4 You to help local families through CHIP (Chesapeake Health Investment Program).  I am so excited to be a part of a program to help local families in need.

CHIP asked if the couponers in Hampton Roads would want to help a great organization. They operate in a larger area but their offices are located in Chesapeake.

The mission of CHIP is to improve young children’s health and promote wellness and self- sufficiency in low-income families, through partnerships with local communities. During the year the families that work with CHIP earn points for various activities (doctors visits, nutrition training etc).

In December CHIP opens a store where their participants can come and cash in their points for items. Most of these items end up being toys and gifts due to the time of year. And while these gifts are great many of these families don’t need toys- they need things like toothpaste, toilet paper and shampoo.

That is where couponers come in. We know how to get these items for free or practically free. And odds are you have extras lying around your house you could donate. Let’s do what we can to make this a happy holiday for local families!

Let’s CLIP for C.H.I.P.!

Our goal is 2,000 items by December 7th. CHIP will also need volunteers to work at the sale if you are interested.

There are several ways to donate items.

1. Pick Up. If you have 100 items or more, you can call and CHIP will come and pick the items up. To arrange for pick up call Blanca Ansbro at 757-543-9100 ext 212. This will enable you to receive a receipt for tax purposes.

2. Drop Off. Several locations around Hampton Roads will be accepting items. Here are those locations and their hours:

3. Bring items to coupon classes. If you attend a coupon class taught by one of the bloggers publishing these posts you can bring your items to the class. We will be sure they get to the proper place.

If all of us come together we can make a huge difference in some people’s lives! Let’s get these 2000 items in and show Hampton Roads what couponers can do!

**We have Bloom Super Doubles on Sunday, October 30th and will have Harris Teeter Super Doubles starting November 2nd.  This is a great time to shop with the CHIPS program in mind.

Please remember that CHIPS does not accept food.  Think of personal care/hygiene/toiletry products that kids would need throughout the year

Please feel free to link up your donation photos on the TCC Facebook page or email me and I’ll post for you.
