I have sad news for all the Kroger shoppers out there. Kroger has recently changed their digital coupon policy.
Previously, Kroger allowed you to stack certain digital or eCoupons wih a paper coupon. Recently, Kroger added all of the eCoupons available from Cellfire, Shortcuts and P&G eSaver and mixed them with the Kroger eCoupons. Now there is no way to tell which eCoupons are Kroger coupons and which are provided by other sites.
Kroger has now added to the Digital Coupon Rules stating that eCoupons and paper coupons can no longer be stacked!
The Wording from Kroger:
Can I use paper coupons as well as digital coupons on the same item?
Limit of one coupon per item. Digital coupons and paper coupons may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.
Remember that eCoupons do not double. Paper coupons do double, up to $0.50 face value at my local stores. Please be aware of the new policy and remember to adjust your shopping accordingly.
Thanks, Deal Seeking Mom!
Thanks for the heads up. One thing, though. I remember it saying something like this when I first started using their ecoupons many moons ago, and my local store would still honor both coupons. Maybe they never realized it, before. I hope our double dipping can still slip through the cracks. It sure does help, lol!
Well what if I got thru the line with a paper coupon and there is a e-coupon on my card for the sameproduct as the paper coupon will my paper coupon not double or will the register not even take my paper coupon?? Hmmm!
From my understanding the policy of not accepting eCoupons and paper coupons together was established before Kroger started providing store ecoupons. The cellfire (and other) ecoupons are manufacturer coupons so they couldnt be stacked.
Kroger then released their own store ecoupons which could be stacked with a manufacturer coupon.
I assume if you still have an ecoupon on your card it will automatically come off even if you give a paper coupon. The cashiers may have to watch the register and manually override. I havne't shopped at Kroger recently to learn what local stores are doing.
Anyone have direct experience with the new policy?
I haven't had a problem yet in Virginia Beach, however I hate shopping at Kroger. Last time I went, they called a manager over on me and she flipped out about how they only accept a maximum of 2 computer-printed coupons per shopping day. I politely I told her I was unaware of the policy, and she angrily pointed towards the small sign under the credit card machine. I think it was rude of her, so I really don't like Kroger thereafter!
They seem to become really stingy lately with the whole 'coupon' thing. I don't know. . . I think I get better deals elsewhere anyways. It was kind of neat how they did the e-coupons, but I really don't like to be yelled at and now that they are crashing the hammer down on all coupons I think it's time I give Kroger the boot.
