Peet’s is giving away new Single Cups!  You’ll also get $1 off Peets coffee coupon when you cast your vote!!

What is my Give a cup?  My children, of course.  Family is the most important thing in my life.  While it can be difficult with the busy lives we lead, remembering to take a step back and think about what’s most important to us is crucial.  My kids will be grown in a blink, so taking advantage of this time is important 🙂

Check out Peet’s Give a Cup social sampling experiment! Each week, you can vote whether you “give a cup” about a new topic. Your vote helps to determine where Peet’s hands out their new Single Cups. So do you #GiveACup?

HUGGIES® Diapers and Baby Proofing Your Life

by Dana Zeliff on July 17, 20132013-07-17

This post brought to you by HUGGIES. All opinions are 100% mine.

Babyproofing. It's something every new Mama worries about. For months you've been blissfully unaware of the dangers lurking in your living room. You happily laid your non-mobile little person in the middle of a blanket and ran to the bathroom while he or she was otherwise occupied with a book or toy. But one day they surprise you. You come back after your thirty second dash and find your smiling baby in a different place than when you left.

The army crawl. The ninja roll. The inch worm. Suddenly, they're mobile.

EVERYTHING is within reach and they want it!

When my son learned to crawl we moved a few things around and put away some breakable items. When he learned to walk we moved a few more things, but he pretty much knew the rules and stayed away from "no-nos". We didn't know how easy we had it until his sister came along.

She learned to walk just before her 10 month birthday and was the master of climbing in the fireplace, up the shelves, under the baby gate (raised ever so slightly to give the dog access to his water bowl) and out of her pack n play. Every room had to be baby proofed from the floor to the ceiling. We bolted book shelves to the wall, re-installed a few cabinet door locks that her brother had long since learned not to open and traded our coffee table for a cushioned ottoman. Everything was fair game as far as she was concerned.

Recently, my active toddler taught her older brother how to climb over his crib rail, a feat he hadn't even attempted in his three and a half years of sleeping in it. That afternoon instead of napping they went "shopping" on Mommy's coupon shelves. Our stockpile was kept on a set of bookshelves behind the door in their room and they found the shampoo shelf. Needless to say we spent the next three days shop vac-ing the floor in their room. Do you know how long it takes to get two bottles of shampoo out of the carpet? It still smells like strawberry breeze in there!

It wasn't all bad. After the stockpile shelves were moved to the linen closet, we took the rail off my son's crib and turned LuLu's pack n play on its side so there would be no broken bones from attempted escapes. Now, this is what I find most every night when I check on my active babies before I go to bed:

Its a good thing not everything has to be as complicated as baby proofing. Luckily, we have HUGGIES® products to help keep our active babies happy and dry. I've used both HUGGIES® Little Movers Diapers Bonus Pack Diapers and HUGGIES® Snug & Dry Diapers on my kiddos.  We've also used HUGGIES® Triple Clean Wipes to keep 'em clean. Sometimes its nice to know that someone else looking out for your mobile little monkeys, too!

Need HUGGIES® for you little one?  They are conveniently available at Walmart stores.

What about you? Did you have a baby proofing disaster? My Mom says that my twin sister and I found the flour, oil and baking potatoes in the pantry one time 🙂 That must have been fun!

Lance® Xtra Fulls™ New Snacktime Favorite

by Dana Zeliff on July 14, 20132013-07-14
in Uncategorized

Disclosure: This post may contain an affiliate link.

This post brought to you by Lance. All opinions are 100% mine.

Our family is always on the go and it often seems that someone gets hungry while we're out . . . despite just having finished their most recent meal. My kids are NOT of the "they just seem to live off air" type of kids. They happily munch all morning long and still sit for a full lunch at 11:30am!

I try to keep a few extra snacks packed in my bag for quick lunches and emergency situations while we're out and about. Usually I have snack crackers, little boxes of raisins or almonds stashed just in case.

Recently I picked up some Lance®  Xtra Fulls™ Toasty crackers (for FREE!) at Walmart with a new product coupon. I was happy to try a new product from a brand I already loved (we already buy Lance® snack crackers in bulk). I liked the fact that these had Xtra Filling & Xtra Flavor, and I really liked that they advertised 6 grams of protein – that made this pregnant Mama happy!

I thought I was bringing them home for the kids (ok, and maybe for me too) but after my husband tried them he took the WHOLE box to his office saying "these are SO much better than the regular ones!" Good thing I got two boxes 🙂

Now the kids and I have our "just in case" snacks for running errands, and I know Hubs is happy with his new favorite 4pm munchies snack. If you want to try Lance®  Xtra Fulls™ Toasty crackers head on over to the 100 Year Celebration – which will make them FREE at Walmart!

If you're like me and already reached your 2-print limit on the above coupon, you can print a $1 off Lance Crackers coupon and try them for just $1.78 from Walmart!

How about you? Are you kids bottomless pits of hunger? Do you need a protein packed 4pm pick-me-up? And really, don't we all munch on our kid's snacks from time to time!?
