What Do YOU Want from The Coupon Challenge??? Please help!

I’ve been doing a LOT of thinking.  What is the best way to utilize my blogging time?  What posts do readers not really care about?  What will make readers come back?

I’ve had all these questions and more running through my head lately.  There are sooo many great blogs out there.  I had no idea of the sheer number before I started blogging.  I only knew of 2 in my area and they averaged around 3 posts per week.  My sidebar now has 5 bloggers in Hampton Roads! I’d advise (for your sanity and time) to have 5-10 blogs on your blogroll.  You want to read the large blogs because they obviously are able to post more deals.  So why read smaller blogs?  That’s what I want your input for.

A few of my thoughts:

  • I’m working on links for other stores in the area-Target, Walmart, Food Lion, etc.  I have a few links saved but if you have a favorite, let me know
  • I’d like to write more- I have several posts in draft and I’d like to do a DIY series
  • I think everyone likes my purchase pictures???
  • I don’t want to be posting the same deals you see on 50 other sites-redundant??
  • Do you like the events page?
  • I’ve been grouping deals into 1 post as a time saver.  Okay???
  • Do you read my Farm Fresh, Harris Teeter, CVS or WAGS matchups or should I just link some?  Farm Fresh will have to stay but I’m open to anything else.  Just keep in mind that I average 7-10 hours a week on matchups so that’s a lot of blogging time-oh seriously

If you don’t mind, please take a moment to leave a comment or email me (thecouponchallenge @ gmail.com)

What will keep The Coupon Challenge on your daily blog roll?  What do you want to see more of?  What don’t you like?

Any thoughts you have will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Now I’m off to Harris Teeter and to get my Fun and Cheap Summer Fun post done-it’s been in draft a month!

Brookdale Farm in Virginia Beach

by Dana Zeliff on June 13, 20102010-06-13

I had a bright idea yesterday to see if we could pick strawberries since it was the last day for strawberry picking in Pungo.  Monkeyboy had a field trip to Brookdale Farm about a month ago so we decided to check it out (we usually pick at Henley’s Farm).  Brookdale in Pungo did have a smaller strawberry field than Henley’s (that I recall). There is also a Brookdale Farm in Hickory.

Sadly, we walked out with about 10 strawberries (at no charge, though).  The kids were sooo disappointed.  I did pick up 1 tomato to have tomato sandwiches for lunch and 6 ears of corn.  The corn is priced at $6 a dozen and the tomatoes are $1.28 per lb (I think).  It is more than I’d normally pay but you can’t beat it when the corn was just picked.  We had 3 of the ears last night and they were yummy!

I was told you can get on the email list to get updates on what’s growing, be the first to know when you can pick strawberries AND get coupons!  Coupons?! Sign me up!  That just made my whole day!

*I saw on Henley’s website that you can pick Blackberries for $1.59lb!

Do you have a favorite local farm?  I’d love to hear about a farm with great prices and/or organics too.

My Hubby: $1 each for 2 Liters @ 7-Eleven

by Dana Zeliff on June 12, 20102010-06-12
in Uncategorized

I know this isn’t a great deal but I had to post it because my wonderful husband is so proud of himself.

He ran up to 7 Eleven and saw the 2 Liters of soda were $1 off when you buy 2.  Regular price is 2/$3, so he picked up two 2 Liters of Dr. Pepper for me (my favorite) for $1 each.  The point is he was trying to be thoughtful and get me Dr. Pepper that I won’t usually buy and save money at the same time.  It’s the little things in life that you need to take a minute and appreciate.

Hey, this could be helpful if you’re in need of soda 🙂

Thanks, Honey!
