Bloom Store Clearance Sales (No Coupons)

by Dana Zeliff on February 26, 20122012-02-26

Locally, Bloom stores are changing back to Food Lion.  The only good news is that Bloom has started marking down some of their Hannaford store brand products and other brands that will not be carried at Food Lion.  This is my haul from yesterday.

I actually ended up spending just shy of $50. That put me over my budget by about $25!  This is the first time I’ve been over budget in well, I can’t even remember it’s been that long.

A lot of the organic items I wanted were already picked over, but I did mange to get some frozen veggies, frozen organic blueberries, 2 organic coffee, 1 k-cup, 2 organic jellies, frozen pie crusts, canned pumpkin, canned blueberries and more.

Have you been shopping at the Bloom clearance?  Tell us how you made out.

My Farm Fresh $2 Doubles & Harris Teeter Super Doubles Shopping Trips 02/15

by Dana Zeliff on February 15, 20122012-02-15

Boy, it’s been a busy three days!  Farm Fresh & Harris Teeter held Mega Coupon Events that started today.  Since Farm Fresh released their ad last night, I was able to be at Farm Fresh (with the kids) by 6:30am.  That would normally be unheard of for me with matchups.

I bought salad and buns for dinner tonight plus used an old Tilex coupon to pay $0.79 for cleaner (a bit higher than I prefer) and I used two $2/2 Reach Toothbrush coupons to get the kids toothbrushes for $0.99 each.  That is WAY over my goal price, but I didn’t want the coupon to expire and I think my kids eat their toothbrushes 🙂

My best deal was 4 FREE bags of Beggin’ Strips.  Bella literally leaped with joy!

Total Paid: $13.05
Total Saved $59.99
I used $4 in CATS

*Look for $1/1 Nabsico belVita tearpad coupons inside your local Farm Fresh

I wasn’t as impressed with Harris Teeter this week but I did manage to stock up on yogurt, used my raincheck for Organic Milk, stocked up on bacon and bought a few necessities.  Many thanks to the Hanbury location for finding more M&M YoCrunch for LuLu in the back.  She was thrilled!

I need to go back for a few things that were sold out such as the Garlic Knots, but I doubt I’ll have another 20 10 coupons worth of products to buy.

Total Paid: $44.69
Total Saved $62.36
Earned $1 CAT for buying 8 YoCrunch singles

Yes, my total was high but I bought 2 organic milks for $10, 3 bacon, veggies, grapes, 2 Seattle’s Best Coffee, sugar, and well, you get the idea.

LuLu was a very happy girl when we left Harris Teeter this morning.  If the kids behave in the store, they are allowed to have either a cookie or balloon after we checkout (Harris Teeter provides this free).

LuLu scored the Deal of the Day with her HUGE Valentines Day balloon.  They were getting rid of the balloons that didn’t sell yesterday, so all the kids shopping this morning benefited.  All the other balloons were smaller hearts which any kid would think was fantastic, but my little lady really knows how to get a good freebie 😉

How did you do on your shopping adventures?

My Farm Fresh Shopping Trip 02/08

by Dana Zeliff on February 8, 20122012-02-08
in Farm Fresh Weekly Ads, My Shopping Trip

What a great week to shop at Farm Fresh!  It’s been awhile since I had to actually prioritize my purchases.  I really wanted to use about 30 coupons this week 🙂

Please note that my Snackwells CAT didn’t print but was manually printed at customer service.

Sadly, all the Planters NUT-rition were sold out, so I’ll try back later in the week for that deal.

I had several $1/1 cereal coupons for the frosted cinnamon toast crunch and peanut butter cheerios to use.  They were marked as part of the sale at $2.50 each, so I paid separately to see if it would trigger the FREE Milk Promo.  Sadly, it didn’t print the CAT’s but I still paid just $2.20 for 4 boxes of cereal or $0.55 each!  I was pleased since free and $0.25 cereal isn’t a norm like it was a couple years ago.

Total Paid $2.20
Total Saved $8

My 2nd transaction used my remaining 16 coupons:
1 Bread $0.99
2 cinnamon toast crunch $2.80 (used old $0.50/1 & $0.60/1)
2 Kix $3 (used $1/2 printable)  plus FREE Milk CAT and $2 CAT
2 Cheez-it $3
2 Blue Diamond $1
2 Snackwells $2 plus $1 CAT
6 Uncle Bens Rice $8 (used $1/2 and $1/4) plus (3) $1 CAT’s
4 Palmolive $2 plus (2) $1 CAT’s
4 Ken’s dressing FREE
2 Mission Chips FREE (old printable)

Total Paid: $23.78
Total Saved: $29.20
Earned $8 in CAT’s plus a FREE Milk CAT

I didn’t bother going to Farm Fresh today. One of the main reasons I wanted to shop was for Snapple.  Both coupons printed “redeem at Walmart”, so that ruined my plans.   I decided to do my weekly shopping at Harris Teeter instead.   Although, I will pop into Farm Fresh at some point for my FREE Coke Zero.

2 Kashi Go Lean Crisp $0.97 each (raincheck – $1/1 old printable)

2 Planters Peanut butter $2.19
4 Campbell’s Select Soup $3
1 double package of Franks Red Hot $0.14

Farm Fresh $2 Doubles Shopping Trip 01/15 Paid $23.99

by Dana Zeliff on January 15, 20122012-01-15

Congratulations to Stephanie for guessing closest my total!

I felt like doing a little dance leaving Farm Fresh this morning. Some of the items I wanted were already gone this morning at 7:30am, but I made it work out okay. Farm Fresh still has a little tearpad store coupon to save $5 off a $20 Johnson and Johnson purchase. If the Bengay had been in stock, I would have done even better. I had to improvise on what was left to complete the deal, but I’m satisfied overall.

Get your $2 Doubles Matchups here and Sale ad here

Transaction 1 was the $10 CAT promo (see 2 Brawny and what’s on top)

Transaction 2 included everything else and the products for the Johnson & Johnson promo are on the right.

Instead of telling you what I spent, I thought you could guess 🙂 Guess correctly (or come closest) and get a $5 Amazon Gift Code!

Leave a comment on this post with your guess on my total paid OOP for BOTH transactions. I’ll post my actual total tonight.

Couple of things to help you out:

  • I did use the $10 CAT to help pay for transaction #2
  • Transaction #1 % saved was more than 20% but less than 50%
  • Transaction #2 % saved was more than 50% but less than 100%
  • Hubby guessed $48 but he was wrong
  • Not all the deals are in the matchups
  • I had 21 coupons that doubled. Yes, I realize I was accidentally 1 over policy
  • This is not an example of Extreme Couponing but was a nice, respectable savings\

Total Paid: $23.99
Total Saved: $80.87

*Feel free to share your shopping trips too!

My Harris Teeter Trip 01/14 (e-VIC Savings)

by Dana Zeliff on January 14, 20122012-01-14
in Harris Teeter Weekly Ad, My Shopping Trip

Disclosure: This post may contain an affiliate link.

I ran into Harris Teeter this morning to take advantage of a few of the sales and e-VIC deals from Friday’s email. I have a little story to share too 🙂

The HT organic milk is VIC price $4.97 which is fantastic for organic milk.  The price has increased substantially over the past year to $6.39!  They were out of the skim milk, so I was told I could substitute the 1/2 gallons of skim organic milk.  Happy day since the expiration is much longer.  They only had 4 of those, so I received a Rain-check to get more later.  Whoot!

My e-VIC email had Newman’s Own K-cups for just $4.77 each.  They were substituting the Green Mountain varieties for the Newman’s Own, so I was able to get my preferred Breakfast Blend!  My e-VIC also reduced the Hefty Waste Bags to $3.97 and Capri Sun to $0.97.  I was super excited about all these deals.  Please note that the K-cup and Capri Sun deals are valid today, Saturday only.

Get your Harris Teeter matchups here

1 Hefty Waste Bags $2.97 (e-VIC -$1/1 old printable coupon)
2 Capri Sun $1.94 (e-VIC)
2 Green Mountain K Cups $8.54 (e-VIC – $1/2 printable)
1 Mariani Bananas FREE ($1.29 – $0.75 from 11/20 SS)
2 HT Skim Milk
4 HT Organic milk quarts
2 HT Half and Half
Blueberries B1G1
2 Rice works Chips $1.38
1 Kleenex cool Touch

Total Paid: $35.53
Total Saved: $35.96

I realize that I spent a lot, but I’m just delighted that I picked up blueberries, 2 gallons of milk, 2 “gallons” worth of ORGANIC milk, coffee creamer, K-Cups, trash bags and more for just $35!
